Getting Started
How do I start using Work Buddy?
Go to theworkbuddy.app/go in your browser or download the mobile app. Follow the quick onboarding to set up your workspace, and you're ready to capture contacts!
Do I need to create an account?
Sign up with your phone number or email in the app. During onboarding, you'll set up your workspace and optionally connect your Google Sheet - that's it.
What Google Sheet do I need?
You can use any Google Sheet you own. Share it with our service account email (provided during onboarding) with editor access. We'll automatically set it up with workspace tabs for Contacts, Tasks, Notes, and more.
Is my data safe?
Absolutely. All your data is stored directly in YOUR Google Sheet. We don't store your business data on our servers. You have full control and ownership of your data.
Using Work Buddy
What types of input does Work Buddy accept?
Work Buddy accepts: 1) Text messages with contact info, 2) Forwarded messages from any chat, 3) Voice notes/audio messages, 4) Images of business cards, emails, or documents. Use whatever is most convenient for you.
How accurate is the AI extraction?
Our AI is highly accurate for well-structured information. It extracts names, emails, phone numbers, company names, and requirements reliably. However, always review the extracted data before confirming - you can edit any field before saving.
Can I edit information after saving?
Yes! You can edit entries directly in your Google Sheet, and changes sync automatically. You can also update status and add notes via the mobile app or web dashboard.
How does the email draft feature work?
Select a contact and use the email option. Our AI generates a personalized follow-up email based on the contact's context and your previous interactions. You can edit the draft before sending or copy it to your email client.
Can I use voice notes in any language?
Currently, voice notes are optimized for English. Other languages may have reduced accuracy. Text inputs in most major languages work better.
Google Sheets Integration
How does the Google Sheets sync work?
When you capture information via the app, it's instantly written to your Google Sheet. Changes you make in the Sheet (like updating status) also sync back. It's real-time, bi-directional sync.
What tabs are created in my Sheet?
Work Buddy creates: Dashboard (overview), Contacts (people), Companies (organizations), Notes (attached content), Tasks (follow-ups), Reminders (time-triggered alerts), Relations (entity links), and Activity Log (actions history).
Can I use my existing Sheet with data?
Yes! We keep your existing tabs and data. We only add the workspace tabs that don't exist. Your data is never deleted or overwritten.
What if I accidentally remove Sheet access?
Syncing will stop, but your existing data remains. Simply re-share the Sheet with the service account email, and syncing will resume automatically.
Features & Capabilities
Can I capture contacts from business card images?
Yes! Send a clear photo of a business card and our Vision AI will extract the contact details automatically. Works best with good lighting and clear text.
Does Work Buddy support multiple team members?
Yes. Team members can all contribute to the same workspace while maintaining individual activity tracking. Team features are fully available during the open beta.
Can I export my data?
Since your data lives in Google Sheets, you can export it anytime using Google's native export options (CSV, Excel, PDF, etc.) or integrate with any tool that connects to Sheets.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes! Work Buddy has a dedicated mobile app built with React Native that works on both iOS and Android. There's also a web dashboard (PWA) at theworkbuddy.app/go that you can use from any browser.
Billing & Plans
How much does Work Buddy cost?
Work Buddy is currently in open beta — all features are completely free. No credit card required, no hidden limits. Pricing will be announced in advance before anything changes. Enterprise plans (custom SLA, SSO, priority support) are available — contact ashish@konzult.in.
Do I need a free trial?
No trial needed — Work Buddy is fully free during the open beta. Sign up at theworkbuddy.app/go and start using all features immediately.
What's included in the open beta?
Everything: unlimited contacts and deals, unlimited voice logging, GPS visit tracking, team dashboards, business card scanner, mobile app and web PWA. All features are available at no cost while we're in beta.
Does Work Buddy support multiple team members?
Yes. Team members can all contribute to the same workspace with individual activity tracking. Full team features are included in the open beta at no cost.
Troubleshooting
The app isn't responding. What should I do?
First, try refreshing the page or restarting the app. If that doesn't work, check your internet connection. If the issue persists, contact support at contact@konzult.in.
My data isn't showing up in Google Sheets.
Check that: 1) The Sheet is still shared with our service account, 2) You confirmed the entry after extraction (didn't cancel), 3) The Sheet wasn't renamed or moved. Try capturing a new entry to test.
Voice notes aren't being transcribed.
Ensure your voice notes are clear with minimal background noise. Very long voice notes (over 2 minutes) may be partially processed. Try shorter, clearer recordings.
Image extraction isn't working well.
For best results: 1) Use good lighting, 2) Hold the camera steady, 3) Make sure text is in focus, 4) Avoid glare or shadows. Business cards work better than handwritten notes.
